Occupational List: The TSS visa program comprises two main streams: the Short-Term Stream and the Medium-Term Stream. Each stream has its own occupation list, which outlines the occupations eligible for sponsorship under that stream.
Duration: The duration of the visa depends on the stream and occupation nominated. The Short-Term Stream allows for visas of up to two years, with the possibility of renewal for a further two years. The Medium-Term Stream can lead to visas of up to four years, with eligibility for permanent residency after three years.
Employer Sponsorship: To apply for the 482 visa, applicants must have a sponsoring employer who is approved by the Australian Government. Employers must meet specific requirements and obligations to sponsor overseas workers under this visa program.
Work Conditions: Visa holders are permitted to work for their sponsoring employer in the nominated occupation and may bring eligible family members to Australia. They must maintain appropriate health insurance during their stay and adhere to the conditions of their visa.
Pathway to Permanent Residency: Depending on the stream and occupation, holders of the TSS visa may be eligible to apply for permanent residency through the Temporary Residence Transition stream or the Direct Entry stream.
